BUILDING :
Rescue and Fire Fighting Directorate of Sabiha Gokcen Airport serves with its 8 managers, 48 Rescue and Fire fighting personnel in a two storey building, with a clear view over the runway.

Said building includes an alarm office, from which all the activities are monitored and controlled, operating on a 24 hour basis, two garages providing simultaneous operation in the event of an alarm for fire and ambulance, maintenance and material workshops, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor sports facility, refectory with a service capacity of 70 people and a kitchen.

PERSONNEL:
General staff is 55 persons, and excluding the administrative staff, all personnel is a graduate of the Fire Fighting and Fire Security Department of Izmit Vocational Academy of Kocaeli University and Vocational Academy of Akdeniz University.
Personnel in administrative position are people who have served in either the Air Forces Command or various levels of the General Directorate of DHMI and Fire Brigade Departments.
2 university graduates have attended the "AIRCRAFT TECHNICAL OVERVIEW FOR THE IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES" in South Africa between 12-16 February 2001 and 6 personnel have attended the Air Pads course at Hamburg Airport and received certificates of achievement. Daily activities are conducted in 3 shifts of 4 groups on 24 hour basis. Each shift comes to duty with the checklists issued and hands over the duty in the same manner. Possible defects in the vehicles and the building are recorded to the duty ledger and notified to the related departments.
Drills are realized with other units, under the coordination of the Airport Directorate so as to prevent a decrease in motivation, to assure availability for the duty at all times and to complete the duty in a complete manner, and necessary measures are taken for the inefficiencies and defects with a collective meeting at the meeting hall.

The Accident and Fire Fighting Directorate of Sabiha Gokcen Airport is fulfilling its duties with 5 Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles that have been allocated. The technical specifications of said vehicles are provided herein below.

The Rescue and Fire Fighting Directorate of Sabiha Gokcen International Airport is serving with its 9 managers, 59 personnel in airplane accidents, crashes and fires.

Said service is executed with 1 Z - 6 Mercedes and 3 MAN fire fighting vehicles, which are currently being visited by you. Our vehicles are equipped with all kinds of rescue and fire fighting equipment.
