Different to that of the other airports in our country, assurance of SECURITY OF FACILITIES is aimed at our Airport along with TRANSPORTATION SECURITY.

In addition to prevention of access of materials that may cause a threat in terms of the aircraft and passengers by detection with advanced technology products in our Airport, a security doctrine of INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS which is based on the principle of identification of the persons of bad intention and persons used as such persons and prevention thereof from boarding the airplane, is adopted.

With the program developed within this framework, the conjuncture, flight, person and the belongings thereof are assessed as a whole and the objective is to overcome the danger by determination of the bad intention or actors thereof.

2. BASIC SOLUTIONS IN AIRPORT SECURITY

2.1. Protective Measures and Intervention Measures:
Protective Measures; prevention of loading or smuggling of any arms, explosives or other devices that may be used for attacking purposes on to the airplane with priority.

Rendering all threats and dangers such as sabotage, illegal actions on the airplane, passengers, crew, theft, pillage, forced detention from duty ineffective with the cooperation and coordination with other security forces.

2.2. Humanistic Equipment of Technical Dimensions in the Prevention of the Above Threats and Actions Endangering the Airport Security:Identification card application related with the rules to be observed by the ground and flight personnel. Luggage controls related with security measures, controlling the entries and exits to and from building, terminal and the air section of the airport with modern electronic and physical devices such as RDS and X-rays etc. are being applied within the guidelines stipulated by international organizations and institutes/institutions such as ICAO, ECAC and IATA and SHY-22 guidelines. Actions in compliance with the separation of the lounges as per the security rules in the airport plans.

2.3. Possible Manner of Action:
In the events of unpredictable dangers and security risks, the "emergency and sensitive situation" plans shall come into force.

2.4. Applications :
Based on the principles of;
24 hour monitoring and control of the public areas and facilities, security areas, airplanes, temporary and permanent personnel with the physical and electronic measures established, Separate and independent application of the domestic flights, international flights, arriving and departing passenger traffic and movements. Restriction of the unauthorized persons and vehicles from sensitive points and areas. Implementation of hygienic and protective measures in issues such as identification cards to visitors and work processors, ground personnel, apron vehicle plates, vehicle apron access cards, boarding crew and luggage, hand bags, foods, beverages and catering materials, fuel supply, permanent apron vehicles etc.

2.5. Application Guidelines for the Established Security System:
The personnel of the established security system is subjected to training and refreshing courses at international and national education institutions within the personnel category. Periodical maintenance and controls of the electronic devices are conducted. The whole system, established is of efficient flexibility for adaptation to changing conditions and situations. 1) Passenger Identification; Our objective under these situations, based on human relations, behaviors and psychology, is identification of the passengers who shall/may disturb the flight security (excessive alcohol, aggressive, mental disorders etc.) and prevention of the flight of said persons for flight security reasons.

2) Identification and Prevention of Threats against the Airport: Said issues have been determined with every detail in the emergency operation planning of our airport. Our greatest assistance in our battle with terrorist groups and smuggling organizations is the state-of-the-art Closed Circuit Camera, X-ray and Vivid system.

3) Airplane Security; Security is provided on airplanes for 24 hours in standard with cameras and motor or pedestrian patrol system. However, airplanes are provided with 24 hour physical security upon request. In said situation, no one shall be permitted near the airplane and no one can enter or realize maintenance on the airplane unless instructed otherwise.

4) Airspace Identification Scanning and Patrol; In this service, access to the airspace is controlled with photographed identification cards (computerized access control system) in addition to physical security. We also have a motorized and pedestrian patrol system which provided 24 hour supervision and identification control in the airspace.

5) Final Security Control Prior to Loading of the Luggage; Actual security follow-up is initiated following access through the main gate, terminal gate and first X-rays. While your security is provided with cameras and our personnel, we realize the security control of the hand luggage of the passengers in a final and most detailed manner. In addition to our experience we benefit from the state of the art Luggage Scanning System, which detects bombs, arms, narcotics, counterfeit money in this final control. In this computerized system, the luggage containing any of the above items is separated from the others and subjected to necessary action upon examination. Luggage shall be under supervision until loaded on to the airplane.

6) Supervision and Security of Valuable Cargo ; Protection of valuable cargo such as banknotes, gold, jewelry and valuable documents is within the scope of our duties. If the cargos shall be subjected to delay after reception, these shall be accompanied to the place of storage. Excluding the authorized personnel, excess is restricted to this section. Camera control, identification control, 24 hour physical control, motor and pedestrian patrol services are provided.
