HOW DOES SABIHA GOKCEN OPERATE?
- The ATS personnel
of Sabiha Gokcen has a minimum experience of 5 years in
active air control and all controllers are licensed by the
Turkish Civil Aviation Authority. All licensed controllers
have a degree in Approach (Radar and manual) and Airport
Control, and have fluency in English.
- Sabiha Gokcen ATS applies a 4 shift system.
Each shift is planned as 8 hours and thus the controllers
are faced with busy work load.
- Controllers have a rest of 24 hours after
each shift. Following the last night shift, the personnel
is entitled to a rest of 48 hours.
- The age average of Sabiha Gokcen ATS controllers
is 30.
- Moreover, Air Information Service also
operates in affiliation to the Air Traffic Directorate,
under the same conditions.
- Air Traffic Controllers and the AIS Personnel
have an Operator's Course Certificate and operation experience
in all equipment they use.
- Some of the Controllers and the AIS
personnel have experience to provide supervision and technical
support for the equipment used in the ATS.
